KHA takes first win of the season in Fraser Valley

The first west coast road trip of the season has come and gone for the Kootenay Hockey Academy.

The Kootenay club wrangled together its first win of the season on Thursday, October 15, with a 3-0 win over Lloydminster in Chilliwack.

Goals came from Alex Johnson, Marcus de Zwart and Blaine Nelson while Dane Demarchi turned aside 49 shots for the shutout win.

The next day, KHA fell 7-1 to Island HC with Bryce Birmingham chipping in the club's lone goal.

Lloydminster was able to gain a measure of revenge with a 6-1 win on Thursday, October 17, the only Academy goal came from Blaine Nelson.

The next batch of games for KHA gets started on Halloween, the boys will be back in the Fraser Valley
