Kootenay Hockey Academy's first JPHL Showcase of the 2024-25 season has come and gone.
The Academy was able to regroup after a rough start Friday and Saturday to walk away with point in Sunday's finale in Lethbridge.
On Friday, September 20, KHA fell 7-2 to the Calgary Rockies.
KHA had goals from Wyatt Borys and Alex Johnson while goalie Dane Demarchi stopped 51 of 58 shots.
The next day saw KHA take a 5-0 loss to Titans Hockey Union.
The Titans outshot the Academy 50-21.
On Sunday, September 22, a Parker Thom goal in the third period forced overtime versus host Lethbridge at a 1-1 tie. The home team ended up netting the OT winner, despite KHA goalie Dane Demarchi turning aside 38 of 40 shots.
KHA is back on the ice for another showcase in the Edmonton area October 4-6 with games against Coquitlam, Island and Langley.
